WHAT WE DO
Inspired by Jimmy Mizen’s life and the values he embodied, the award shines a light on those whose actions make their schools and communities better places. While academic achievement is often recognised, the Sparkle Award celebrates something equally important – the character, generosity and selflessness that can have a lasting impact on others.
The Sparkle Award represents the hope at the heart of the Mizen Foundation’s message of forgiveness, peace and hope. It challenges us to look beyond negative stereotypes and recognise the extraordinary good that exists in young people. By celebrating kindness and encouraging others to follow their example, the award helps to build more peaceful school communities and inspires the next generation to become positive role models for now and the future.
